I first met Cathy about 20 years ago when I had the privilege of working with her. We had an instant bond; we were both working moms with children in similar stages of life, and we were both encouraged by sharing our stories with each other. Circumstances took us on different paths for a while. But then, a few years ago, I was blessed to once again, share my work days with my beautiful friend! The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Cathy is joy. She was blessed with a joy in her heart that bubbles up and out to everyone she meets. Of course, as with all of us, the world has tried to smother that joy, but she will not have it. She surrounds herself with inspiration and motivation that fans the flames of joy and love in her life. Cathy loves to learn, and she loves to learn how to make life better, not just for herself, but for everyone in her life. She is a loving and encouraging wife, a selfless mother to four children, a caring daughter to her aging parents, an excellent and dedicated employee, and a sweet and thoughtful friend to anyone blessed enough to have met her. Probably the most important thing about Cathy is her faith. She believes that God is good and that he is constantly working though the feasts and famines in her life for good, molding and making her to accomplish all the good he has planned for her. And she believes that God’s ultimate purpose for her is to be a source of love and encouragement to those that God has placed on her path. And to this purpose, I see her strive every day. I can think of no better person to help others realize and achieve their goals and dreams than a fellow sojourner who will lead and encourage each person who is blessed enough to travel alongside her through this life we have each been called to.
